While the fight against sexual violence continues to rage on in South Africa a disturbing trend continues to rise, especially in the Eastern Cape. According to EC police spokesperson Brigadier Marinda Mills, child rape is becoming more frequent in the province.
Earlier this month, the Daily Dispatch reported a series of child rapes which occurred over one weekend, involving six children aged between seven months and 15 years. While child rape exists in other countries, South Africa has especially seen a rise in these incidents.
