Foo fighters coming to SA

By Sebastian Burger

Legendary  rock band The Foo Fighters are headed our way to melt some faces this December in Cape Town and Johannesburg

The award-winning rock group, headed by former Nirvana Drummer and all-round bad-ass Dave Grohl has time and time again blown the music industry away, winning the Grammy for best rock album 4 separate times, one time with an album recorded in a garage.

The band, which is currently working on a new album, Lanterns (due for release in November 2014), is known for amazing live performances with cameos the likes of Jimmy page of Led Zeppelin and Brian May of Queen gracing the stage alongside them.

The band’s South African Show was announced this morning by BIG CONCERTS and will see the Kaiser Chiefs and BLK JKS coming along as supporting acts. Tickets will go on sale on Thursday the 26th meaning if you need to negotiate with your parents for tickets start tonight.

The dates and prices are as follows:

Cape Town:
Wednesday 10th December 2014 at the Cape Town Stadium
Tickets: R350 – 960 (R620 for general standing)

Saturday 13th December 2014 at the FNB Stadium
Tickets:  R350 – R1085 (R745 for general standing)

And all for those worried: yes these shows do fall within University holiday times.
